As always with the recipes shared here, these are not MY recipes. Just wonderful findings in my efforts feeding our family. Linking you to where I found this gem here.

I’ve been on a bit of a kick lately when it comes to trying out different breads and dinner rolls. This recipe has been, far and away, one of the easiest. But without question, the best tasting (and this was agreed upon by every family member – babies included) 😉

Quick Yeast Rolls

ingredients needed:
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
instructions:
  1. In a large bowl, mix the shortening, sugar, and hot water. Allow to cool until lukewarm, and mix in the yeast until dissolved. Mix in the egg, salt, and flour. Allow the dough to rise until doubled in size.
  2. Grease 8 muffin cups. Divide the dough into the prepared muffin cups, and allow to rise again until doubled in size. I let the dough rise for around an hour before putting them in the oven.
  3. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  4. Bake for 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a knife inserted in the center of a muffin comes out clean.
