Today I’m sharing our family’s favorite easy honey beer bread recipe. This homemade bread recipe involves zero waiting around for dough to rise or kneading dough like yeast-based breads. You simply throw six ingredients into one bowl, pour the dough into a bread pan, and bake. AND VOILA – you have my favorite party trick 🙂

I am a true bread lover. I do not discriminate against bread and love it in all its forms. I have all sorts of ways that I love to make bread, including our bread machine and classic sourdough in a dutch oven. But when I tell you that this is by far the easiest way and one of the most crowd pleasing, I am not exaggerating. This easy honey beer bread recipe only takes a handful of ingredients, and tastes like you spent all day making it.

If you find yourself in the mood for a yummy bread without all the fuss, this easy honey beer bread is where you’ll find it! This quick bread recipe is something that I love having on hand to quickly throw together for an afternoon treat or dinner side dish (especially paired with a hearty soup).

This is an easy recipe that doesn’t require hours of prep or anything fancy at all, yet still manages to wow anyone and everyone.  It is so wildly easy to whip up with just a few simple ingredients that it will be your new go-to. Whether you’re serving it as a cozy treat or as a standout side dish, this easy beer bread recipe is filled with savory flavors and is a guaranteed crowd pleaser.

HONEY BEER BREAD INGREDIENTS:

12 ounces of beer (your favorite beer or any type of beer you have on hand)
Honey
All-Purpose Flour
Baking Powder – this works as a leavening agent in the bread. Don’t miss this part!
Butter
Kosher Salt

Seriously, friends, it could not be easier.

HOW TO MAKE HONEY BEER BREAD:

1. Grease the inside of your bread pan. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

2. Add dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, and kosher salt to a large bowl. Follow with wet ingredients.

3. Pour in beer.

The type of beer will change the bread flavor slightly. I prefer to use lighter beers, but a darker/richer beer will create a bolder result.

4. Pour in honey.

5. Stir ingredients together.

It will turn into a sticky ball of dough that looks something like this.

6. Spoon into well-greased bread pan.

7. Top with butter slices.

Adding the butter to the top of the batter creates a crispy, buttery crust on the top and bottom that is just out of this world.

8. Bake and serve hot!

Enjoy your fresh baked bread, maybe even with a little extra butter or extra honey 😉  If you’re feeling adventurous, I highly suggest mixing up your own homemade honey butter to serve with it!

I hope this easy honey beer bread recipe is a new crowd favorite in your home, too!

Happy baking 🙂

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

  • 1 (12 ounce) can of beer – your favorite one or whatever you have on hand.

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 6 tablespoons of unsalted butter (cut into slices)

Directions

  • Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees and grease/butter 9×5 bread pan. Make sure your pan is WELL greased, this bread has some sticking powder once baked.
  • Add dry ingredients to a large bowl: flour, baking powder, salt.
  • Pour beer on top of dry ingredients.
  • Pour honey on top of beer.
  • Hand mix until just combined. This will be a sticky dough, so do not over-mix.
  • Spoon batter into a prepared loaf pan.
  • Top batter with butter slices.
