I am a BIG fan of easy homemade Mother’s Day gifts around here. As a mother, a DIY Mother’s Day gift that one of my loved ones spent time hand-making for me means more than even the most expensive thing on my wishlist.

DIY Mother’s Day gifts are an added bonus if you’re on a tight budget or have run out of time to order the right gift for your mother or mother figure. Somewhere between the two is usually where I find myself, so if you’re the same, you’re in the right place! And the good new is, most of these can be done by kids of all ages!

Today, I’ve rounded up 15 budget-friendly and easy homemade Mother’s Day gift ideas for folks like me 😉  I focused on not only finding great last-minute and affordable gifts, but finding truly BEAUTIFUL and practical gifts that mom will love!

15 EASY HOMEMADE MOTHER’S DAY GIFTS:

Hand-Drawn Hearts

Source: me 😉

This was a simple project and sweet gift that I came up with last Mother’s Day for mine and my musband’s mom. Have the kids or grandkids draw a heart and label with their name and age. A perfect way to melt a mom’s heart and double up as gorgeous home decor. We did one for my husband’s mom with all 13 grandchildren (even the older kids participated!)

I actually photoshopped the hearts together and printed them on cardstock. You could do this in a program such as canva. Or if all the kiddos live in one place, simply have them draw it directly on the card stock and frame!

DIY Antique Cutting Board

A DIY antique cutting board! I mean, how dreamy. This is a beautiful DIY gift and a display piece or a practical piece. Pair it with a favorite treat or baked good and pretty ribbon for an extra wow factor!

Essential Oil Room Spray

Easy and beautiful! This gift is a great way to go if you need multiples, especially for the essential oils lover. These would make great gifts for any of the moms in your life. Friends, grandparents, teachers, etc.

Pressed Flowers (from the kids or grandkids!)

Pressed flowers. Fresh flowers are great, but pressed flowers will last forever and make any mom’s day. All I can say is that as a mom, if my children collected flowers and pressed the flower petals with me in mind, it would be a statement piece in my home!  Pair with DIY mother’s day cards, a special message, and you’ve got yourself a perfect gift.  If you’re looking for heartfelt gift ideas, this is certainly one of them.

Handmade Lemon Lavender Candle

Who doesn’t love a yummy scented candle? Why not try your hand at making one for the moms in your life? These printable tags from Boxwood Avenue make it a truly beautiful gift, and she gives step-by-step instruction to keep things easy!  You could even pair this gift with a DIY candle holder.

Handmade Goat’s Milk Citrus Soap

I am a sucker for handmade soap. How LOVELY is this citrus soap from Hello Wonderful?  AND it’s an awesome gift idea if you need multiples. Tie them up in ribbon and voila!

DIY Grocery Store Bouquet

Speaking of easy DIY mother’s day gifts, this one is super convenient but still so meaingful. I love this idea for giving flowers to multiple moms on a budget!  Mikyla Creates shows you how to take grocery store bouquets and make something truly stunning with an extra personal touch.

Inexpensive DIY Gallery Wall (Using Dollar Tree Frames)

Our Dollar Tree gallery wall is still one of my favorite projects! This is an incredibly easy and AFFORDABLE way to give photos as a gift. I recently gave my mom a gallery wall for Christmas and it brought her to tears. You couldn’t go wrong with this one when you throw in a favorite family photo!

DIY Framed Silhouette Art

I always thought that creating silhouette art would be much harder, but Sara D makes it look easy! How sweet to give the gift of a child/grandchild’s silhouette. This is on my agenda for Mother’s Day this year, and I think it’s such a great mother’s day gift!

Vanilla Sugar Scrub

I have a friend that handmakes sugar scrub and has given it to friends and family as gifts for years. It is always one of my very favorite gifts to receive, every single year. I like to keep one in the shower and one by our bathroom sink. A DIY Mother’s Day gift you couldn’t go wrong with!  And no need for a fancy jar – just toss it into a mason jar and off you go!

This is a unique way to show mom love to the mom that loves to cook! Or even just loves to display her cookbooks, this DIY cookbook stand is a GREAT idea. And it’s made all the more special that a loved one made it.

Preserved Handwritten Recipe

I love this simplistic and beautiful way to display a family recipe from the Blesser House. I recently took my Grandmother’s chicken and dumplings recipe and created something similar for my parents. They LOVE it and have it proudly displayed in their home. A gorgeous and sentimental gift that Mom will treasure.

Homemade Honey Mint Lip Balm

I don’t know about you, but I am a lip balm-using fool! I make a straight line for the homemade lip balm table at craft shows. I love that it’s natural and handmade – and if it’s made by YOU, Mom is sure to love it.

Natural Face Moisturizer

Natural face moisturizer. Sign my dry skin up! An easy, nourishing, and practical gift. A moisturizer is also a great gift for when you need multiples.
