Let’s talk about meaningful housewarming gift ideas, shall we? When I give someone a gift, I love for the receiver to know that I spent time putting it together and thinking about them in the process.

To do this, I like to mix up a few smaller items together. Think – something pretty, something yummy, and something practical. To me, combining a few thoughtful gifts with a handwritten note feels personal and heartfelt. And to make your card hunt easy, I have created 2 FREE “Happy New Home” 4×6 printable cards that you can download at the end of this post. No strings attached, and you can simply print these on computer paper, cut/fold, and bam! You’re ready to go!

These ideas are great for any budget because your housewarming gifts can be as homemade or as fancy as you want them to be. This post is a list of suggestions, and to keep it budget-friendly, many of the items can be homemade.

So let’s get into it.

15 Meaningful Housewarming Gift Ideas:

1. DISH TOWELS (but make them pretty!)

I love this set from Amazon. Affordable, very practical, and beautiful! I love to pair these with other smaller items. There’s something about a pretty dish towel that really feels “home-y.”

2. HOMEMADE BREAD

You can NEVER go wrong with bringing someone homemade sourdough bread. It’s a gift that takes a little time to make, is an absolute TREAT, and will make people feel special.

I like to make mine in the dutch oven. If you have never made sourdough bread, Amazon has starter kits that give you all the tools you’ll need. I have also found that THIS flour makes the absolute best sourdough bread.

3. CHEESEBOARD

The perfect gift for a new homeowner. This is an affordable and beautiful option that I love from Amazon. Pair it with homemade bread (as discussed above), throw in a card, and voila! A beautiful, thoughtful, and yummy gift!

4. HANDMADE SOAP

This is a great option if you don’t live close to the new homeowners. And maybe you are a soap maker and can whip these up on your own, but maybe like me – you aren’t! Smith Farmhouse Co. makes my favorite bar soaps. They are all-natural and smell absolutely RIDICULOUS. And by ridiculous I mean incredible. If I could bottle the smell up and wear it as a perfume, I would! These bars are so moisturizing and truly last forever. Smith Farmhouse Co. has a build your own gift box option that makes it easy to pick out your scent and have them shipped (to you OR directly to the new homeowners). A beautiful, practical, and heavenly-smelling gift that will bring joy to new homeowners for quite a while!

5. COOKIES

Ohhhhhhh cookies. My old friend. I’ll just tell you right now, if you bring/deliver cookies when I’m settling into a new house, I’m going to love you FOREVER. Period.

This is my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe. These are an all-around fan favorite, and come out looking and tasting straight-up bakery quality! Just trust me on this one and give them a try.

I also highly recommend using Watkins Vanilla Extract. I grew up on this stuff in the deep south, and I’m certain it’s the key to these cookies being as incredible as they are! A must for all baking, in my opinion.

6. CUSTOM ADDRESS STAMP

I love the clean and modern look of this one from LavenaCreativeCo on etsy. This is something that many do not invest in for themselves, so it makes a GREAT gift. A really fun way to celebrate a new address, as well!

7. HANDMADE CANDLE

I might be partial. MIGHT BE as in – The Burning Magnolia is my parents’ candle business. But they are the best in the biz! Their candles last forever, are all natural & soy, and have the best smells I’ve ever found in candles. They have a Welcome Home candle that’s perfect for new homeowners, and as a bonus, you can choose your scent. My sweet parents love what they do and ship these out faster than anyone’s business! The perfect little gift for local or far away new homeowner friends.

8. HOUSE NUMBER PLAQUE

I love this one from MICADesignCrafts on etsy. The size is customizable and the plaque is traditional, so it will fit the needs and style of anyone! It’s also very affordable, a big win in my book!

9. HOUSE PLANT

Because who ever went wrong giving a house plant? I can never have too many! Here are a few great option that you can find online.

10. ORNAMENT

How darling are these house-shaped ornaments with the year of purchase from ChrissyAnnCeramicsCo? Such a sweet way to remember a new season of life.

12. WELCOME MAT

You couldn’t go wrong with this sweet, minimalistic “Welcome Home” mat from the Studio McGee line at Target.

13. HERBS

Plants just make things feel homey. An herb assortment is the perfect gift to make someone feel right at home in their new space!

14. THROW BLANKET

I have had my eye on this pretty throw from Amazon for several months now. It’s the perfect blanket to add style and beauty to your home by draping on the back of a couch or side of a chair.

15. AMBER GLASS SPRAY BOTTLES (Filled with Your Favorite Multi-Purpose Cleaner)

I live by these bottles in our house. I use a cap full of Young Living Thieve’s Cleaner and water in mine. I keep it on a wooden stand next to our sink. These are truly a gift that keep on giving!
