Benjamin Moore Cinnamon Slate

Every once in a while, I come across a paint color that stops me mid-scroll. Cinnamon Slate by Benjamin Moore does exactly that!

It’s not your typical brown, or dare I say purple? This color is a rich, moody mauve gray/plum that is absolutely yummy. It’s earthy and refined, and doesn’t scream for attention but STILL makes a big statement.

Like with any paint color I share, I always recommend grabbing a sample before jumping all in. The same shade can look totally different depending on your lighting, flooring, and everything else in the room. I personally love using Samplize – their peel-and-stick samples are made with real paint, so you get a true look at the color without the mess. It’s such an easy (and budget-friendly) way to try a few options and feel good about your decision before painting a whole room.

Cinnamon Slate by Benjamin Moore LRV

Cinnamon Slate has an LRV (Light Reflectance Value) of 16.54, which places it on the darker end of the scale. LRV ranges from 0 (absolute black) to 100 (pure white), so this one is definitely moody, but not too heavy. It’s creates contrast without being too dark.

Where should you use Cinnamon Slate?

Cinnamon Slate is the kind of color that shines in the right setting. I could see this working beautifully in:

  • A cozy den or library space paired with warm woods and antique brass
  • A dramatic powder bath with soft linen accents and a vintage mirror
  • Built-in cabinets or a moody accent wall in an otherwise neutral room
  • A vintage-themed nursery
  • But it could go, well, anywhere.

I hope this gives you some great idea for how to use Cinnamon Slate by Benjamin Moore in your home!

Until next time,
Courtney
